The William R. Butler Center for Service and Leadership offers a wide range of volunteer and advocacy-based service opportunities for University of Miami students, staff and local community members including one-day special events, classroom experiences, ongoing involvement with over 40 service organizations and planning committees, and volunteer opportunities during fall, spring and summer breaks.
Additionally, we challenge students to think about leadership beyond the traditional leadership paradigm, thereby gaining an understanding of different approaches to active citizenship. The Butler Center for Service and Leadership works toward developing the leadership potential of students in all academic disciplines, as well as raising the overall standard of student leadership at the University of Miami.
This blog serves as an additional resource for students, faculty, staff and members of the community to gain insightful perspectives on service and leadership. We invite UM students, organizations, departments, offices, local non-profits, or anyone who can provide a unique outlook on service and leadership to submit ideas for a post or their very own post.
